Idea Overview:
Smeaky.com is striving to grow into a multimedia platform that inspires its audience to better the future. The three pillars that support this mission are:
• Showing how to live and work in an environmentally friendly way
• To practice respectful parenting and
• To care for one’s mental and physical health by going deeper spiritually
For working people who want a better future for our children, our multi-media platform provides articles, short stories and videos, books and courses which inspire clear actions, that will enable our world to flourish for us and the future generations.
Unlike the existing media platforms, which focus on promoting conflict, worry and fear, we focus on positive steps we can and should take, along with personal stories from everyday people who are already taking such steps.
Who might use it/where it might be used?:
People interested in a better future for their children, e.g. living and working sustainably are able to access some of the resources, such as blogs and video content for free. Those are supported by some affiliate marketing. E-learning courses and books are paid products, which will be sold directly to individuals and also to companies, who need training for their employees.
The Market (B2B, B2C or Both):
Both
Sector the idea belongs to:
Gaming
Is there a similar idea to be found?:
https://waterbear.com/
https://ellenmacarthurfoundation.org/
Why you think there is a demand for your idea?:
As the activist groups are drawing more and more attention to the problems of global warming, most educated people are aware and feel accountable for the problem. They would like to do what they need to do, but it's hard to navigate for them on what the priorities are and what things are available to end users (vs. new technologies that are not yet on the UK market)
Who would be the ideal customers?:
The content is aimed at people who have children in their life, who have some spare income and are well educated. They may purchase the paid products themselves, but more likely their employers will want to increase their employee retention, so they are keen to provide such resources to their people.
What ideas do you have to reach these customers?:
Expertise provided via LinkedIn and Instagram. A lot of the produced content lends itself to be adapted for other social media channels as well.
How far have you developed this idea?:
Currently there is a live blog with some video content (https://smeaky.com/) and an e-learning course in development. I have two prospect small business clients for the e-learning course. There is also a picture book that I have written and in talks with an illustrator. The plan is to publish it in October 2023 and there is some interest about it, which I'm hoping to cash on for the Christmas holidays.
What – if any – feedback have you had for this idea so far?:
I had some feedback about the website and I made changes. The other products are not live yet. I've had positive feedback on the picture book's text, which I sent out and I've had interest from small businesses about the e-course but no feedback as I haven't sent it to them yet.
What supporting material – if any - would you like to add to your proposal?:
I think taking a look at the website helps to understand the core values of the business.
