Idea Overview:
My name is Andraya Catlyn, I worked in healthcare for many years. Personal care is a very challenging issue for care providers. Hair washing altogether extremely impactful on quality of life, is near enough impossible for some patients. When I cared for my terminally ill mother I created a innovative solution a steam hair cleaner.
Who might use it/where it might be used?:
The hair steam cleaner would be used in care settings were patients have limited or no mobility. The National Health service’s would have the device as part of its care delivery catalog so that everyone who needs their hair washed can, with minimal effort and resources.

Why you think there is a demand for your idea?:
Working with patients in the community who literally would beg for their hair to be washed shed light on a major problem for me. The request was to frequently denied for safety issues. Inside NHS hospital I found nothing different for patients with limited/poor mobility the amount of resources and time a simple task like washing hair can take. It is easy to see the need for my idea.

There are companies who manufacture a steamer for clothing. I believe partnering with one of these providers would be the best way forward. The interchangeable heads for ease of clean would be adapted for a secure functional fit.

“Green and eco friendly innovative idea. No doubt this will be adopted in the future”, I got this feedback from one of my lectures.
“More therapeutic uses for example aromatherapy”, from a healthcare professional.
