Idea Overview:
To develop and manufacture Fuel Cell technologies to replace Diesel engines in the railroad sectors. To significantly reduce Total Cost of Ownership through significantly lower fuel usage due to higher efficiency. To reduce both Micro and Macro emissions, and to reduce operators carbon footprints. And make the world a "Cleaner, safer, more efficient place, for today and for future generations."
Who might use it/where it might be used?:
Companies or businesses looking for cleaner and/or alternative energy solutions. Companies or businesses that are looking to reduce the Total Cost of Ownership of energy-creating technologies, by reducing fuel costs, through substantially higher energy efficiencies. Companies or businesses that share the same belief I do; that the world should be cleaner, safer, and more efficient for us and future generations to appreciate.
The Market (B2B, B2C or Both):
Business to Business (B2B)
Sector the idea belongs to:
Energy
Is there a similar idea to be found?:
There are currently several labs and universities internationally (South Korea and Germany for example) that are working on Ammonia fuel cells and are researching hydrocarbon Reforming. And a few companies are developing Ammonia Fuel Cells for commercial use, but currently, I am unaware of any companies developing hydrocarbon-reforming fuel cells commercially.
Why you think there is a demand for your idea?:
Numerous companies in medium and heavy-duty industries (shipping, mining, railroad) are looking into new technology to reduce Total Cost of Ownership and achieve their own “green and clean” goals. I believe that if costs associated with fuel entry (for example Ammonia or Diesel Reforming) could be optimized and lowered, there is a distinct possibility that this new Fuel Cell conversion technology could benefit multiple industries. Converting or replacing traditional diesel fleets will not only have a significant impact to reducing carbon footprints but also positively influence the economy on a macro level.
Who would be the ideal customers?:
Railroads, due to their exploration of alternative fuel and technologies, and their clearly defined operating conditions, shared by all Tier 1 railroads, allowing a solution for 1 railroad to be instantaneously deployed for another railroad.
What ideas do you have to reach these customers?:
Via industry networking, tradeshows, and expos, but looking for professional advice to shore up this area.
How far have you developed this idea?:
In the theoretical idea phase, backed up by industry and institutional research and prototypes.
What – if any – feedback have you had for this idea so far?:
No professional feedback so far, looking to further bolster this area as well.
What supporting material – if any - would you like to add to your proposal?:

Hunter, this looks like an enormous project. Do you have a team of researchers and engineers in place to develop and manufacture the fuel cell?
