Idea Overview:
1cein is a SaaS, a self-purpose platform for manufacturers. Obtaining a compliance report is often too expensive, too time-consuming or impossible. 1cein makes this possible. Through 1cein manufacturers can up-load any technical documentation and, after validating it, a Conformity Report is generated. In this way they will be able to give their clients the evidence that their products are compliant or guarantee a specific performance. Our clients pay a subscription fee.
Who might use it/where it might be used?:
1cein is a platform aimed at manufacturers and/or wholesales importers/exporter and/or users of industrial machinery in order to allow them to prove or verify that the CE marking affixed to a machinery is supported by a correct and complete CE marking process: and all this without the manufacturer having to share any documents with anyone, not even with us. Obviously, we will be able to offer additional services to those who request them based on individual needs.
The Market (B2B, B2C or Both):
Business to Business (B2B)
Sector the idea belongs to:
Manufacturing
Is there a similar idea to be found?:
There are many competitors. One of them is the ProductIP (https://www.productip.com/) they are mainly a consulting company and also have a SaaS for the product compliance.
There are a lot of SaaS for the supply chain management but this services mainly manage the transportation processes or custom procedures, but not the product compliance.
Also the existing application for the supplier qualification are not intended in terms of the product compliance: they evaluate the compliance of the whole organization.
Why you think there is a demand for your idea?:
In EU and in the UK there are different Directives and Regulations that require that the buyer/importers of a machinery shall verify if the manufacturer has made a correct and complete CE marking process. The problem is that the manufacturers is not willing to share the technical file for different reasons: to protect his IP or patents or Know How.
We have talked with different wholesale import/export companies and just few days ago with consulting companies that offer internationalization services and they are interested in talking further with us.
We are talking on LinkedIn also with CEO manufacturers companies and in the next weeks will test also to contact Supply Chain Managers of buyers for machinery users.
Who would be the ideal customers?:
Core customers are: machinery manufacturers, users (manufacturing companies), wholesales import/export, consulting companies for internationalization
Personas are: CEO, supply chain mangers, compliance managers
What ideas do you have to reach these customers?:
We'll use this channels: social networks (LinkedIn and Facebook), national and international trade fairs, partnerships with companies that offers services for internationalization and with wholesales import/export companies.
How far have you developed this idea?:
I have been working in the field fo machinery CE marking for more than 20 years and I know the EU legislation. Our service is also interesting for companies that produce medical devices mass produced, or for electrical products.
What – if any – feedback have you had for this idea so far?:
Often machinery manufacturers say that they are fully compliant, but importers are interested to give a valuable service to their clients because they know that not to be compliant may mean incurring in even criminal sanctions when importing a product or a machinery.
What supporting material – if any - would you like to add to your proposal?:
I have drawn up two power point: one for clients and one for investors
